Terms of Use
Last updated 8 September 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are between you and Genetrify, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Selwyn Uy ("we", "us") and based in the Philippines, the developer of Choopi. By downloading or using Choopi you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Choopi is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Their terms also apply to your download and any purchase. Where a store's terms conflict with these, the store's terms govern that transaction.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Choopi on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
3. Your photos are yours
Choopi does not claim any right in your photos. We never receive them. You are responsible for the photos you choose to delete.
Choopi never deletes a photo on its own. Every deletion is presented to you first, then confirmed a second time by your operating system's own dialog, and the photos are moved to your device's Recently Deleted (iOS) or Trash (Android), where they typically remain recoverable for about 30 days. That recovery period is controlled by Apple and Google, not by us.
4. Choopi's suggestions are opinions
Features such as "Choopi's eye" and the grouping of photos into moments are automated estimates. They may be wrong. They never make a decision for you, and you should review anything you are about to delete.
5. Free and Pro
Choopi's core features are free. The free tier includes a daily limit on how many photos you can review; the limit and how it works are shown in the app.
Choopi Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Nothing recurs and nothing renews. It removes the daily limit and unlocks the Backlog feature, for the account that bought it, on the store it was bought from.
Deleting your own photos is never restricted by the free tier.
6. Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play: Play refund help. If a purchase went wrong, please also contact us — we will help where we can.
7. No warranty
Choopi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its suggestions will be accurate.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, photos, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Choopi. Our total liability for any claim relating to Choopi will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be noted by the date above and in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Choopi after a change means you accept it.
10. Termination
You may stop using Choopi at any time by deleting it. We may suspend the licence if you breach these terms. Sections 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of the Philippines will have jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there, which these terms do not take away.
12. Apple-specific terms
For the iOS app: these terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Choopi. If Choopi fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to Choopi. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
